New Digital Platform Strengthens Ministry of Health Supervision of the Privately owned Health facilities.

Kampala, 4th August 2022 - Ministry of Health in partnership with Uganda Health Federation, a member of PSFU yesterday officially launched the Digitized Self-Regulatory Quality Improvement System (SQIS). This is an initiative under the COVID-19 Economic Recovery and Resilience Program implemented by PSFU with support from Mastercard Foundation.

The SQIS is a mechanism aimed at supporting the supervision of privately owned health service points.

Uganda Health Federation is comprised of over 4000 private health facilities, over 10,000 drug shops and pharmacies, over 2000 diagnostic centers are standalone centers; and the SQIS were developed to help recognize the diversity of the private health sector and its large numbers across the country.
