Through a partnership between European Union & Private Sector Foundation Uganda, a Training of Trainers has been facilitated by the Promote the Supplementary Feeding (Suppl- F) Project under Private Sector Foundation Uganda, with the aim of equipping the farmers with the necessary knowledge to increase incomes of beef value chain actors in Uganda. These sessions included training on; animal nutrition science, how to plant and manage pastures, make and apply feeds, weigh animals, and how plan for feedlots.
The training took over a period of 5 days which started on the 9th – 13th of April, 2022 with its Official Opening taking place on 9th April 2022 and was officially opened by – Mr. Francis Kisirinya – Chief Membership Officer, PSFU, and Mr. Daniel Ojiambo, Project Manager Suppl-F, PSFU. This training marks the close of the 32-month project.
The closing ceremony took place at Orchids House Farm, Nakasongola comprising of a Courtesy visit to Orchids House Farm for a Supplementary Feeds Pastures and Feedlot experience, Viewing Supplementary Feeds exhibitions and Training products and materials & sharing of information concerning opportunities for beef value chain for Business to Business and B2C, Marketing and Value addition & Financing, an award session for all participants and will a Beef Stakeholders Networking Event.
